Thanksgiving Giveaway!!

I want to start off Thanksgiving week with a Noonday giveaway.
As if you didn't have ENOUGH reasons to be thankful,
now here's your chance to win some free Noonday loot!

Each of our Noonday products comes with a story.
I LOVE stories.

One of my favorites in the line of our handmade goods is our Ethiopian collection.
Because of the amazing redemptive story that each piece tells.

These lovely jewelry items are handmade from upcycled artillery.
Ethiopia is a country that has been ravaged both by civil war and HIV.
These pieces are redemptive work that God is doing there.

Farmers gather leftover shell casings and melt them down
and through ancient technique make beads
that are then passed on to our artisans.

The majority of women that make these pieces are HIV positive.
They have flocked Entoto Mountain,
where there is a myth that they can be healed from their disease
by drinking of holy water.
It is common that after facing the devastation that there is no healing,
they must resort to begging for survival.
They are cut off from society because of the stigma of their disease.

In 2007, a group called Beza Entoto Outreach
formed together to minister to these women.
They taught them the skill of beading,
and provided them with healthcare and medication
that makes HIV undetectable in their blood.

"I have new dreams for my son," says 26 year old Embemebet.
She has been working for Entoto making jewelry for 6 years.
She came to the mountain 9 years ago when she discovered she was HIV positive.
Her previous husband didn't tell her he was HIV+
and she didn't find out until he passed away.
Her current husband also came to the mountain to seek healing.
They have been married 5 years and they have a miracle baby together, Yabsera, after suffering the loss of two babies before him.

Noonday partners with artisans like Embemebet
to make these beautiful pieces of jewelry.

  5. So I love noonday- love the mission, love the cause, love that my small purchases are lifting people out of poverty and helping them see themselves in light of God's grace! I could go on and on, but I especially love that these pretty earrings turn the horrors of war into hope :)
