A Big Day.

Today was a big day in the life
of my little peanut.
Today was the day that she has been
looking forward to for several weeks .
Today was the day she went to school
for the first time.

Sniff, sniff.

Most of our conversations have gone like this:
"Mom....I'm going to school. You're not going to
school. You will stay at the house.
I'll see you on Sunday."

Once, during a meal she did show
a little love my direction as she lamented
"Awwww. You're not gonna be there.
That makes me sad."

But 100 other times, it was basically
"I'm going to school and you can't go."

This morning as I got her ready, she could barely wait
to head out the door. She has been obsessed
with her new back pack and insisted on packing it herself.

PLAY BY PLAY:
Leaving the house. Shall I translate?
"Ugh. Mom. You are so annoying with that camera."

Then she can't contain her excitement as she heads off down the sidewalk.

"Okay, bye Mom."
She really thought that she was going to walk
to school by herself. Which is in Baldwin Park.
Which takes about 15 minutes to drive to.

I literally had to chase after her and pick her up to carry her to the car.
I used the backpack as leverage. :)

Don't let her face fool you. She is thrilled to be there.
Just not to take the picture.

In 2 seconds, she was already off with the playdoh.
"Oh Mom, don't let the door hit ya...."

After 3 hours of playing, I show back up and she immediately
comes over to her backpack, packs her things, and is ready to go.

Photo opp with her teachers before we head off...

Concerned about her craft projects:
"I need to put them in my backpack so they will be safe."

And she leaves just as happy as she arrived.
Easy as pie.
I am pretty sure that isn't how it goes for most people.
And so I will consider myself lucky.

The end.
