Hi y'all.
Are you having fun yet?
Learning about all of these cool Noonday products?
Today will not disappoint.
This, my friends, is a magic sandal.
Introducing the Sseko...
These snazzy little shoes are made by young women in Uganda:
"We partner with Sseko Designs who, like Noonday Collection,
recognizes the power of business and responsible consumerism
to support sustainable economic development.
The goal of Sseko Designs is two-fold:
provide university tuition for these promising young women
through a sustainable monthly income,
while also contributing to the overall economic development of Uganda.
Sseko Designs hires recent secondary school graduates
for the nine month period after high school and before university to live and work together,
while earning money that will go directly towards their university education.
However, these women will not make sandals forever.
They will go on to be doctors, lawyers, politicians, writers and teachers
that will bring change and unification to a country divided and ravished by a 22 year-long war."
The Ssekos are perfect for every day wear.
Youtube features tons of "how to" idiot proof video tutorials
so that you can fashion your sandals at any and every whim.
And....
Word on the street is that these cute little sandals are becoming
a favorite for bridal parties.
Everyone gets an awesome pair of shoes that can be worn all of the time,
and they can be worn tied all the same or let the bridemaids express themselves
through a unique tie that's different from the rest.
They are comfortable.
Supportive on your foot (I have super high arches so I can vouch for that...)
And so, so versatile.
Don't want to take my word for it?
Well, how about the Pioneer Woman?

She loves 'em too.
You purchase the base and then your choice of straps,
which currently come in these purty colors:
Oh, and if you are planning a wedding and want more formal straps,
I can hook you up with those from the Sseko peeps. :)
